The song was written by, Louis Biancaniello, Kahmarl Gordon, Sam Watters, James Bourne and produced by The Runaways. It was released as the lead single from the group's second studio album ''Wordshaker''. The single charted at number two on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the band's fifth top 10 hit and highest charting single at the time along with their charity single "Just Can't Get Enough". It also reached number nine on the Irish Singles Chart, becoming their second top 10 hit there after "Just Can't Get Enough". Overall, the single gained positive reviews from critics, ''Digital Spy'' stated the song was "shifting away from glossy electropop and taking a few stiletto steps into pop rock territory", ''TeenToday'' stated the song had a "A killer soar of a chorus", and ''WessexScence'' stating that it was "It is vocally impressive" ==Background== "Forever Is Over" was revealed as the title for the group's second album's lead single on 25 July.
